Children of Bodom was a Finnish heavy metal band formed in 1993. Known for their unique blend of melodic death metal and power metal, they gained popularity for their energetic performances and intricate guitar work. The band was named after the infamous Lake Bodom murders, which occurred in 1960. The lineup included founding members Alexi Laiho and Jaska Raatikainen, along with Henkka Seppälä, Janne Wirman, and Daniel Freyberg. Over their career, they released several successful albums, such as Follow the Reaper and Are You Dead Yet?, before disbanding in 2019 following Laiho's death.
