Childeric II
Childeric II was a Merovingian king who ruled over the Franks in the late 7th century. He became king in 662 AD after the death of his father, Clovis II. His reign was marked by political instability and power struggles among noble families.
Childeric II's rule ended in 675 AD when he was assassinated, likely due to conflicts with the powerful mayor of the palace, Ebroin. After his death, the throne passed to his half-brother, Theuderic III, as the Merovingian dynasty continued to face challenges in maintaining control over the Frankish territories.
