Chief of Naval Staff
The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) is the highest-ranking officer in a country's navy. This position is responsible for overseeing naval operations, strategy, and administration. The CNS advises the government on maritime matters and ensures that the navy is prepared to defend national interests at sea.
In many countries, the Chief of Naval Staff reports directly to the Minister of Defense and may also be a member of the military's top leadership. The role often involves collaboration with other branches of the military, such as the Army and Air Force, to ensure cohesive defense strategies.
