Charles Evans Hughes
Charles Evans Hughes was an American lawyer and politician who served as the 11th Chief Justice of the United States from 1930 to 1941. He was born on April 11, 1862, in Glen Falls, New York. Hughes was known for his work in both the judicial and political arenas, having previously served as the Governor of New York and as a Republican presidential candidate in 1916.
Hughes played a significant role in several landmark Supreme Court cases, focusing on issues such as civil liberties and economic regulation.
