Charles D. B. King
Charles D. B. King was a prominent Liberian politician and military officer who served as the 17th President of Liberia from 1920 to 1930. He was born on November 12, 1875, and became the first Liberian president to be elected for two consecutive terms. His administration focused on economic development and infrastructure improvements, although it faced criticism for corruption and authoritarian practices.
King was also known for his role in the Pan-African movement and his efforts to strengthen ties between Liberia and other African nations. He resigned in 1930 amid political unrest and was later exiled. King passed away on January 12, 1961.
