Charles "Pete" Conrad was an American astronaut and naval aviator, born on June 2, 1930. He became the third person to walk on the moon during the Apollo 12 mission in November 1969. Conrad was known for his adventurous spirit and sense of humor, which he often displayed during his space missions.
Before joining NASA, Conrad served as a test pilot and flew various military aircraft. He was also involved in the Gemini program, where he piloted Gemini 5 and Gemini 11. Throughout his career, Conrad made significant contributions to space exploration until his passing on July 8, 1999.
