Charles "Buddy" Rogers
Charles "Buddy" Rogers was an American actor and musician, born on March 13, 1904, in Olathe, Kansas. He gained fame in the 1920s and 1930s as a leading man in silent films and early talkies. Rogers is best known for his role in the classic film Wings, which won the first Academy Award for Best Picture in 1929.
In addition to his acting career, Rogers was also a talented trumpet player and a member of the Dorsey Brothers band. He married actress Mary Pickford in 1937, further solidifying his status in Hollywood. Rogers continued to work in film and television until his retirement in the 1970s.
