Chang and Eng were conjoined twins born in 1811 in Thailand. They were connected at the chest by a band of cartilage and shared a liver. The twins became famous in the United States during the 19th century, performing in circuses and exhibitions.
Despite their unique condition, Chang and Eng led relatively normal lives. They married two sisters, Sarah and Adelaide, and fathered a total of 21 children. The twins passed away in 1874, but their legacy continues to spark interest in the lives of conjoined twins and the challenges they face.
