Cham people
The Cham people are an ethnic group primarily found in central and southern Vietnam and parts of Cambodia. They are descendants of the ancient Champaka civilization, which thrived from the 2nd to the 15th century. The Cham culture is rich in traditions, language, and religion, with many practicing Islam while others adhere to Hinduism.
Historically, the Cham were known for their maritime trade and skilled craftsmanship, particularly in pottery and textiles. Today, they maintain their unique cultural identity through festivals, music, and dance, despite facing challenges such as modernization and assimilation into larger national cultures.
