Cetus (Whale)
Cetus, often referred to as the Whale, is a prominent constellation located in the southern sky. It is one of the largest constellations and is named after a sea monster from Greek mythology. The constellation contains several notable stars, including Mira, a red giant known for its variability in brightness.
In addition to its stars, Cetus features deep-sky objects like the Cetus A galaxy, which is a prominent radio galaxy. The constellation is best visible during the autumn months in the Northern Hemisphere and is often associated with maritime themes due to its name and mythological origins.
