Central Yupik
Central Yupik is a language spoken by the Central Yupik people, primarily in western Alaska and parts of Russia. It belongs to the Eskimo-Aleut language family and is one of the two main dialects of the Yupik language, the other being Siberian Yupik. Central Yupik is known for its complex grammar and rich vocabulary, which reflects the culture and environment of its speakers.
The Central Yupik people traditionally rely on fishing, hunting, and gathering for their subsistence. Their culture is deeply connected to the land and sea, with practices that include the use of traditional tools and techniques. Efforts are ongoing to preserve the Central Yupik language and culture through education and community initiatives.
