Center-Back
A Center-Back is a defensive player in soccer, positioned centrally in the back line. Their primary role is to prevent opposing players from scoring by blocking shots, intercepting passes, and tackling. Center-backs often have strong physical presence and good aerial ability, making them effective at winning headers during set pieces.
In addition to defensive duties, center-backs are also responsible for initiating attacks by distributing the ball to midfielders or wingers. They need to communicate well with teammates, especially with the goalkeeper, to maintain a solid defensive structure. Key attributes include positioning, strength, and tactical awareness.
