Centaurus Cluster
The Centaurus Cluster is a large group of galaxies located about 13 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Centaurus. It is one of the closest galaxy clusters to our planet and contains over 100 galaxies, including the prominent giant elliptical galaxy known as NGC 4696. The cluster is part of the larger Centaurus Supercluster.
This cluster is notable for its rich population of galaxies and is a key area of study for astronomers. It is also home to a significant amount of hot gas, which emits X-rays, making it an important site for understanding the formation and evolution of galaxy clusters in the universe.
