Cell Components
Cells are the basic building blocks of all living organisms and contain various components that perform specific functions. The main parts of a cell include the nucleus, which houses genetic material, and the cytoplasm, a jelly-like substance where many cellular processes occur. Other important components are mitochondria, known as the powerhouses of the cell, and ribosomes, which are responsible for protein synthesis.
Additionally, cells have cell membranes that protect and regulate what enters and exits the cell. Endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus are involved in the production and transport of proteins and lipids. Each component plays a crucial role in maintaining the cell's health and functionality.
