Cedar Key Lighthouse
The Cedar Key Lighthouse is located on Cedar Key, a small island off the coast of Florida. Built in 1854, it was originally constructed to guide ships navigating the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The lighthouse stands at 51 feet tall and features a distinctive white tower with a black lantern.
Today, the Cedar Key Lighthouse is part of the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge and is accessible by boat. Although it is no longer an active lighthouse, it remains a popular historical site for visitors interested in maritime history and the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
