Cathode Ray Tube TVs
Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) TVs are a type of television that uses a large glass tube to display images. Inside the tube, electrons are emitted from a cathode and directed towards a phosphorescent screen. When the electrons hit the screen, they create light and form images. CRT TVs were popular for many decades due to their ability to produce vibrant colors and deep blacks.
These televisions are bulky and heavy compared to modern flat-screen models. As technology advanced, LCD and LED TVs became more common, leading to a decline in CRT TV production. Despite this, CRTs are still appreciated by some for their unique picture quality and retro appeal.
