Catechisms
A catechism is a summary or exposition of religious doctrine, often in the form of questions and answers. It is commonly used in the teaching of the Christian faith, particularly within Catholic and Protestant traditions. Catechisms help individuals, especially children, learn the core beliefs and practices of their faith in a structured manner.
The most well-known catechism is the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which outlines the beliefs, sacraments, and moral teachings of the Catholic Church. Other denominations also have their own catechisms, such as the Heidelberg Catechism in the Reformed tradition. These resources serve as important tools for religious education and spiritual formation.
