Catalan counties
Catalan counties, known as "comarques" in Catalan, are administrative divisions in the region of Catalonia, Spain. Each county serves as a local government area, facilitating regional administration and promoting local culture and identity. There are 41 counties in Catalonia, each with its own unique characteristics and communities.
The counties are further grouped into four provinces: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona. This structure helps manage resources and services, such as education and transportation, while also preserving the rich history and traditions of the diverse areas within Catalonia.
