Casimir Pulaski
Casimir Pulaski was a Polish nobleman and military commander born on March 4, 1745. He is best known for his role in the American Revolutionary War, where he fought for the colonies against British rule. Pulaski is often referred to as the "Father of the American Cavalry" for his contributions to cavalry tactics and training.
Pulaski's military career began in Poland, where he fought against Russian influence. In 1777, he joined the Continental Army and played a significant role in several battles. He died on October 11, 1779, from wounds sustained during the Siege of Savannah, and is honored as a hero in both Poland and the United States.
