Cartridge-Based Games
Cartridge-based games are video games that are stored on removable cartridges, which are inserted into a gaming console. These cartridges contain the game's data and allow players to easily switch between different games. Popular systems that used cartridges include the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Genesis.
Cartridges were a common format for video games from the late 1970s through the 1990s. They provided a durable and portable way to store games, but eventually, they were largely replaced by CDs and digital downloads. Despite this, some modern consoles, like the Nintendo Switch, still use cartridge-like media for their games.
