Carter Administration
The Carter Administration refers to the presidency of Jimmy Carter, who served as the 39th President of the United States from January 20, 1977, to January 20, 1981. His administration focused on human rights, energy conservation, and economic challenges, including high inflation and unemployment. Carter also emphasized diplomacy, notably achieving the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt.
Carter's presidency faced significant challenges, including the Iran Hostage Crisis, where 52 American diplomats and citizens were held hostage for 444 days. Despite his efforts in foreign policy and domestic reforms, he was unable to secure re-election in 1980, losing to Ronald Reagan.
