Carolina Chickadee
The Carolina Chickadee is a small songbird native to the southeastern United States. It measures about 4.5 to 5.5 inches in length and has a distinctive black cap and bib, white cheeks, and grayish wings and back. This bird is known for its cheerful, varied calls, particularly the familiar "chick-a-dee-dee-dee" sound.
Carolina Chickadees primarily inhabit deciduous and mixed forests, as well as suburban areas. They are social birds, often found in small flocks, and they feed on insects, seeds, and berries. These birds are also known for their curious nature and will readily approach humans in search of food.
