Carnivorous
Carnivorous refers to organisms that primarily consume meat as their main source of nutrition. This term is commonly used to describe certain animals, such as lions, eagles, and sharks, which have evolved to hunt and eat other animals. Their digestive systems are adapted to process protein and fat found in animal tissues.
In addition to animals, some plants are also classified as carnivorous. These carnivorous plants, like the Venus flytrap and pitcher plant, capture and digest insects to obtain nutrients, particularly in nutrient-poor environments. This unique adaptation allows them to thrive where traditional sources of nutrients are scarce.
