Carnac
Carnac is a small town located in Brittany, France, known for its impressive prehistoric sites. The area is famous for its alignment of standing stones, called menhirs, which date back to around 4500 BC. These stones are arranged in long rows and are believed to have been used for ceremonial or astronomical purposes.
The most notable site in Carnac is the Carnac Stones, which consist of over 3,000 menhirs spread across several fields. Visitors can explore these ancient structures, as well as nearby burial mounds, known as tumuli, which provide insight into the region's rich history and prehistoric culture.
