Carlotta Grisi
Carlotta Grisi was an Italian ballet dancer born on July 23, 1819, in Rome. She is best known for her role in the ballet Giselle, which premiered in 1841. Grisi's performance in this iconic role helped establish her as one of the leading ballerinas of her time.
Throughout her career, Grisi danced with prominent ballet companies across Europe, including the Paris Opera Ballet. She was admired for her technical skill and expressive artistry, influencing the development of ballet in the 19th century. Grisi retired from the stage in the late 1850s and passed away on May 20, 1899.
