Carlos Monzón
Carlos Monzón was an Argentine professional boxer, widely regarded as one of the greatest middleweights in boxing history. Born on August 7, 1942, in San Javier, Argentina, he became the undisputed middleweight champion in the early 1970s. Monzón was known for his powerful punches and exceptional defensive skills, holding the title from 1970 to 1977.
After retiring from boxing, Monzón faced legal troubles, including a conviction for the murder of his wife, Alicia Muñiz, in 1988. He served time in prison and died in a car accident in 1995. Despite his controversial life, Monzón's boxing legacy remains significant.
