Cardiac Rhythms
Cardiac rhythms refer to the electrical impulses that trigger heartbeats, ensuring the heart pumps blood effectively. These rhythms are generated by the sinoatrial node, often called the heart's natural pacemaker, which coordinates the timing of heart contractions.
Abnormal cardiac rhythms, known as arrhythmias, can lead to various health issues, including palpitations, fainting, or even cardiac arrest. Monitoring these rhythms is crucial for diagnosing heart conditions and can be done using an electrocardiogram (ECG) to visualize the heart's electrical activity.
