Capsule Endoscopy
Capsule Endoscopy is a medical procedure that uses a small, pill-sized camera to take pictures of the digestive tract. Patients swallow the capsule, which travels through the esophagus, stomach, and intestines, capturing images along the way. This non-invasive method helps doctors diagnose conditions like Crohn's disease and bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.
The capsule is equipped with a light source and sends images to a recorder worn by the patient. After the capsule passes through the digestive system, the images are analyzed by a doctor. This technique provides valuable insights without the need for traditional endoscopy.
