Cape Canaveral Lighthouse
The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse is located on the east coast of Florida, near the entrance to the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Built in 1868, it stands 151 feet tall and is one of the tallest lighthouses in the United States. The lighthouse was designed to guide ships safely along the coast and has a distinctive white and black striped pattern.
The lighthouse is part of the Cape Canaveral National Seashore and is an important historical landmark. It was automated in 1966, which means it no longer requires a keeper to operate. Today, the lighthouse is not open to the public, but it remains a significant symbol of maritime navigation.
