Canyon Lake Dam
Canyon Lake Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the Guadalupe River in Comal County, Texas. Completed in 1964, it was built to provide flood control, water supply, and recreational opportunities in the surrounding area. The dam creates Canyon Lake, a popular destination for boating, fishing, and camping.
The dam stands approximately 100 feet tall and spans about 1,500 feet across. It plays a crucial role in managing water flow and preventing flooding downstream. The reservoir formed by the dam also supports local wildlife and enhances the natural beauty of the region.
