Canwest
Canwest was a Canadian media company that operated various television networks, newspapers, and digital platforms. Founded in 1974 by Israel Asper, it became one of the largest media organizations in Canada. Canwest owned notable assets, including the Global Television Network and several major newspapers, such as the National Post.
In 2010, Canwest faced financial difficulties and filed for bankruptcy protection. The company's assets were subsequently sold to Postmedia Network, which restructured the media landscape in Canada. Canwest's legacy continues to influence the country's media industry, despite its dissolution.
