Cannon-Bard Theory
The Cannon-Bard Theory is a psychological theory that explains how emotions are experienced. It suggests that when an event occurs, the body simultaneously experiences physiological reactions and the feeling of emotion. For example, seeing a snake might cause your heart to race and also make you feel fear at the same time.
This theory contrasts with other theories, such as the James-Lange Theory, which posits that emotions result from physiological responses. The Cannon-Bard Theory emphasizes that both the emotional experience and the physical response happen independently but simultaneously, highlighting the complexity of emotional processing.
