Canine Good Citizen
The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program is designed to promote responsible dog ownership and encourage the training of well-mannered dogs. It is a certification program that evaluates a dog's behavior in various everyday situations, ensuring they can be a good companion in public and at home.
To earn the CGC title, dogs must pass a series of ten tests that assess their obedience, social skills, and ability to follow commands. Successful completion of these tests demonstrates that a dog is reliable and well-trained, making them a more enjoyable pet and a positive presence in the community.
