Cangrande I
Cangrande I della Scala (1291–1359) was an influential Italian nobleman and military leader from the Scaliger family. He ruled the city of Verona and played a significant role in the politics of northern Italy during the early 14th century. Cangrande was known for his military prowess and strategic alliances, which helped expand his family's power and influence.
He is also remembered for his patronage of the arts and literature, notably supporting the famous poet Dante Alighieri. Cangrande's reign marked a period of cultural and economic growth in Verona, making it an important center in medieval Italy.
