Canadian one-dollar coin
The Canadian one-dollar coin, commonly known as the Loonie, was introduced in 1987. It features a distinctive design of a common loon, a bird native to Canada, on one side. The coin is made of nickel-brass and has a gold-like color, making it easily recognizable.
In 1996, a two-dollar coin, known as the Toonie, was introduced to complement the Loonie. Both coins are widely used in Canada and are part of the country's efforts to reduce paper currency usage. The Loonie and Toonie are popular among Canadians for their durability and unique designs.
