Canadian black bear
The Canadian black bear is a medium-sized bear species found across Canada, primarily in forested areas. They have a distinctive black coat, although some may appear brown or cinnamon. These bears are omnivorous, feeding on a varied diet that includes fruits, nuts, insects, and small mammals.
Typically, Canadian black bears weigh between 100 to 600 pounds and can measure up to 6 feet in length. They are known for their excellent climbing skills and often seek refuge in trees. During winter, they hibernate in dens, relying on fat reserves accumulated during the warmer months.
