Cameroon National Union
The Cameroon National Union (CNU) is a political party in Cameroon that was established in 1966. It was formed by merging several political groups to create a unified party that would support the government of President Ahmadou Ahidjo. The CNU played a significant role in the country's politics during the early years of independence.
The party was the sole legal political party in Cameroon until the introduction of multiparty politics in the 1990s. Over the years, the CNU has undergone various transformations and has faced challenges, including internal divisions and competition from other political parties. Despite this, it remains a notable part of Cameroon’s political history.
