Calorie
A calorie is a unit of measurement used to quantify the amount of energy provided by food and beverages. When we consume food, our bodies convert the calories into energy needed for daily activities, such as walking, thinking, and even sleeping.
There are two main types of calories: calories from carbohydrates and fats, and calories from proteins. The body requires a certain number of calories each day to maintain basic functions and support physical activity. Consuming more calories than the body needs can lead to weight gain, while consuming fewer can result in weight loss.
