Callaqui volcano
Callaqui volcano is an active stratovolcano located in the Andes mountain range of southern Chile. It stands at approximately 3,607 meters (11,834 feet) above sea level and is part of the Callaqui volcanic complex. The volcano has a conical shape and is characterized by its steep slopes and a summit crater.
The last significant eruption of Callaqui occurred in 1960, coinciding with the massive Valdivia earthquake, which was one of the most powerful earthquakes ever recorded. The area around the volcano is known for its diverse ecosystems and is popular for outdoor activities such as hiking and climbing.
