Calcio
Calcio is a traditional Italian sport that resembles a mix of soccer and rugby. Originating in the 16th century, it was played by noblemen in Florence and is known for its physicality and lack of strict rules. The game is played on a rectangular field, with two teams competing to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team's net.
The modern version of Calcio is known as Calcio Storico and is played during the Feast of San Giovanni in Florence. Each team consists of 27 players, and the match is played in four 50-minute periods. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and physical strength, making it a unique cultural event in Italy.
