Cairngorms reindeer
The Cairngorms reindeer are a herd of reindeer that live in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. They were introduced to the area in 1952 and have since adapted to the local environment. These reindeer are semi-wild and roam freely in the mountains, where they graze on grasses, mosses, and lichens.
The herd is managed by the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, which offers visitors the chance to see and learn about these animals. The reindeer are well-suited to cold climates, with thick fur and large hooves that help them navigate snowy terrain.
