Cadwallon of Gwynedd
Cadwallon of Gwynedd was a prominent king of the Kingdom of Gwynedd in north Wales during the early 7th century. He is best known for his conflicts with the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, particularly King Oswald of Northumbria. Cadwallon sought to expand his territory and influence, leading to significant battles that shaped the political landscape of Britain at the time.
His reign is marked by a brief period of success, including the notable victory at the Battle of Heavenfield in 634 AD. However, Cadwallon's power was eventually challenged, and he was killed in battle around 634 or 635 AD, leading to a shift in power dynamics in the region.
