COP26 summit
The COP26 summit, held in Glasgow in November 2021, was the 26th annual conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It brought together world leaders, negotiators, and activists to discuss and address global climate change challenges. The main goal was to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the United Nations’ climate agenda.
During the summit, countries presented their plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate impacts. Key topics included the need for financial support for developing nations, the importance of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, and commitments to phase out fossil fuels.
