COP meetings
COP meetings, or Conference of the Parties meetings, are annual gatherings where countries come together to discuss and negotiate actions to combat climate change. These meetings are part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and involve representatives from nearly every nation in the world.
During COP meetings, participants review progress on climate agreements, set new targets, and share strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The most notable agreement from these meetings is the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius.
