CL-215
The CL-215 is a specialized amphibious aircraft designed for firefighting. Developed by Canadair in the 1960s, it can scoop water from lakes or rivers and drop it on wildfires. The aircraft is equipped with large, retractable floats that allow it to land on water and take off again quickly.
This aircraft has a maximum capacity of approximately 1,400 gallons of water, making it effective for combating large fires. The CL-215 is often used in conjunction with other firefighting resources, such as ground crews and helicopters, to enhance overall firefighting efforts in challenging terrains.
