CIF
CIF, or Cost, Insurance, and Freight, is a shipping term used in international trade. It indicates that the seller is responsible for the costs of transporting goods, including insurance and freight charges, until the goods reach the buyer's destination port. This term is commonly used in contracts and agreements to clarify the responsibilities of both parties.
Under CIF terms, the seller must arrange and pay for the shipping and insurance, ensuring that the goods are protected during transit. Once the goods arrive at the destination port, the buyer assumes responsibility for any additional costs, such as customs duties and local transportation.
