CFA Franc
The CFA Franc is a currency used in several African countries, primarily in West and Central Africa. It is divided into two variants: the West African CFA Franc (XOF) and the Central African CFA Franc (XAF). Both currencies are guaranteed by the French Treasury and are pegged to the euro, which helps maintain their stability.
The CFA Franc is used by 14 countries in total, including Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Cameroon. It facilitates trade and economic cooperation among these nations, as they share a common monetary policy. The currency is issued by two different central banks: the Central Bank of West African States for XOF and the Bank of Central African States for XAF.
