C/2007 E2
C/2007 E2 is a long-period comet discovered on March 2, 2007, by astronomer Michael J. Schwartz. It is part of the Oort Cloud, a distant region of our solar system that contains many icy bodies. This comet has an elongated orbit that takes it far from the Sun, making its appearances rare.
The comet reached its closest approach to the Sun, known as perihelion, on March 18, 2008. During this time, it became visible to the naked eye, providing a spectacular sight for skywatchers. C/2007 E2 is notable for its bright coma and tail, which are characteristic features of comets as they approach the Sun.
