Bunionette
A bunionette, also known as a tailor's bunion, is a bony bump that forms on the outside of the foot, specifically at the base of the little toe. It occurs when the fifth metatarsal bone shifts outward, causing the toe to lean inward. This condition can lead to discomfort, pain, and difficulty in finding properly fitting shoes.
Bunionettes are often caused by factors such as genetics, footwear choices, and foot structure. Treatment options include wearing wider shoes, using padding, or in severe cases, surgical intervention. Proper foot care and early attention can help manage symptoms and prevent progression.
