Bull Shoals Dam
The Bull Shoals Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the White River in northern Arkansas. Completed in 1951, it was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide flood control, hydroelectric power, and recreational opportunities. The dam creates Bull Shoals Lake, which spans over 45,000 acres and is popular for fishing, boating, and camping.
The dam has a total generating capacity of 1,000 megawatts, making it an important source of renewable energy for the region. It also plays a crucial role in maintaining water levels downstream, benefiting both the environment and local communities.
